How long does it take to get an item made for an auction? +
We recommend allowing yourself at least one month from ordering your kits to receiving your finished projects.

How do we order supplies? +
Place your order and pay through the secure shopping cart at www.glassartprojects.com , or call Customer Support at (800) 400-0388, your order will be shipped directly to you via UPS or USPS.

We don’t have access to a kiln, can we still do the fusing projects? +
Yes. We do all of the firings, you don’t need any special equipment to complete a Glass Art Project Kit.

Do I have to be a teacher to lead my child’s class in making a Glass Art Project? +
No. The directions are very straight forward and easy to follow; everyone will enjoy it so much and treat you like a hero for bringing it in!

I don’t see a platter kit that will work for our group. Can you help us customize one? +
Yes. Let us know what your specific needs are and we will find or create a kit to suit your needs.

Is there a way to put the student’s first names or initials on the finished pieces? +
Yes, we offer an engraving option on all of our finished projects. For an additional fee we can engrave the student's names or initials on the back of the platter corresponding with their individual square. At your request we will also engrave the school, class, teacher, year etc. Along with that we provide a printed picture of the platter with the names overlaid on the front so that you can display it along with the platter at your event. Please see product pages for specific pricing.

Do I have to be an artist to make my own Glass Art Projects? +
No, our kits are designed to be so foolproof that they will make anyone look like they are an experienced artist.

Is it easy enough for a 6 year old to "assemble" a class collage? +
I have personally worked with many of the youngest students and they are very capable of assembling their own Glass Art Projects. As with all the students, proper supervision is necessary to remind the children to be respectful with the materials. It is very fun and easy for the students, and the supervising adults.

How long does it take to receive the materials in the mail? +
Upon placing an order, we usually ship out the next day via UPS or USPS. Depending on where you are located you should receive it within a week.

How long for it to be assembled and mailed back? +
When you send back the assembled collages we will take 7-10 days to arrange, fire, slump, engrave (if you choose to do so) and ship it back to you. You can expect to get it in about two weeks including shipping time, depending on where you are located.

Is there any kit where we could make a glass cross? +
Yes. Please contact the studio to let us know what your specific needs are and we can find or create a kit to suit your needs.

What are the time requirements to do a project with a class? +
You should allow 40 minutes to one hour in the classroom.

What does the finished piece look like? +

What would be the turn-around time once we send them back to you to be fired? +
We need 7-10 business days in the studio to finish your projects.

Is it possible to mount these tiles in a table top? +
Many of our clients have used their Glass Art Projects as elements for other projects (furniture, wall-art etc). Whatever you can do with ceramic tiles you can do with glass tiles. We have also seen people group their Suncatchers together to make creative mobiles.

What else do I need to know to implement this project? +
The kits come with everything you will need to do the project and for the return shipping. The instructions are very straight forward and we are available by phone and email if you should have any questions along the way.

Is it possible to just make 2 ½” tiles with the Sun-Catcher Kit (omit the hanger)? +
Yes. You can elect to have the wire hooks omitted from your Sun-Catchers.

Is it possible to fuse our group project together flat rather than as a platter? +
Of course, we are happy to work with you if you have further ideas for your finished Glass Art Project, just let us know.

Is shipping including in the total price for the kit or is there an additional charge? +
We pay the shipping for the finished project to be mailed back to you.

If we do not engrave how do we know which piece belongs to which student? +
You don’t have to choose to engrave the student’s names to know which is theirs. We keep track of the individual pieces and there will be no confusion about which piece belongs to which artist as long as you follow the labeling instructions.

Do you ever donate the kits to organizations like ours for fundraising events? +
We are not able to donate entire kits however our project kits are a great way to raise funds, kids love making them and parents are amazed at the end results. The platter project is spectacular money maker at school auctions. Please see our sample Donation Request Form for inviting parents to contribute a few dollars each to offer this experience to their children. We will also consider donating a sample, sun-catcher kit with the purchase of a platter project kit.

What are the age and grade level suggestions for your project kits? +
All of the products and supplies in our kits are non-toxic and safe for ages 12 and up. Younger children between the age of 4 and 12 may use the Glass Art Project Kits with adult supervision only, being mindful that they contain small parts and should be handled with care.
